Flooring Options Beaumont, TX
When deciding what kind of flooring to use in your home, the options from which you choose will likely be determined by a variety of factors including light level in the room where the flooring will be located, style and decoration, and use of the room – you wouldn’t expect to find hardwood flooring in the bathroom for example. There are generally five major flooring categories from which to choose including hardwood, laminate, carpet, tile, and vinyl.
HardwoodHardwood is generally the most expensive flooring option, but many would say that it is also the most attractive. Hardwood flooring can be used to give a room a stately or classic feel, or if chosen correctly can complement a modern vibe. Hardwood flooring can withstand high foot traffic, but is not the best flooring option for areas of the home which are prone to high moisture.
LaminateLaminate flooring is usually made to look like hardwood or stone, but sells for just a fraction of the price. The best laminate flooring can look quite impressive in its own right. Laminate is made from wood fibers and hence shares the same debility as hardwood when it comes to moisture. Higher end laminate products may come with a special sealing which makes them scratch and stain resistant.
CarpetCarpet is a very popular flooring option due to its versatility. Carpet is most often found in bedrooms, playrooms, and the basement. Carpet can be more moisture resistant than laminate or hardwood, but is still not considered best used in high moisture areas of the home. Carpet comes in a wide variety of colors and fiber option, making it the most popular flooring material in the U.S.
TileWhen it comes to areas that need to withstand high wear and tear, and even water and moisture, tile is a great option. When properly installed a tile floor can last for years, and can add an interesting touch to the home. Tile comes in all the colors of the rainbow, and due to their individualized nature tiles can be used in far more artistic ways than the other flooring options listed here.
Vinyl may be the most waterproof of all residential flooring options. It is made out of a kind of plastic, so vinyl is designed to look like other material, usually wood, stone, or tile. Vinyl offers great protection in high traffic areas and is popular in laundry rooms, bathrooms, and even kitchens.
